I love Deviled Eggs… my husband, not so much. But I wanted to put my cute egg dish to use this Easter, so I made Mini Twice Baked Potatoes. They were a HIT! Cooking the potatoes in bacon grease really kicked it up a notch. I used Crème Fraiche because that’s what I had in the fridge, but you can use sour cream.

Ingredients:
Baby Dutch Yellow Potatoes
Bacon
Cheddar Cheese
Crème Fraiche
Chives

This Cocobon Red Blend was begging to be paired with Chocolate. Specifically, a hollow chocolate bunny with his ears bitten off. This California wine is aged in espresso roasted French oak. The combination is rich and decadent 🐇🍷

Burrata Salad with Strawberries, Candied Pecans, Teeny Tiny Tomatoes, Arugula and Balsamic

I love making salads with Arugula because it allows me to add something sweet. The arugula is nice and peppery so it balances the sweetness of the Strawberries and Candied Pecans

The 12 year aged balsamic and Burrata can both be purchased at @oliveoiloftheworld

Happy Hour themed Birthday Centerpiece 💐

Yes, I realize these floral arrangements look like bridal bouquets when held, but they looked super cute on the table at happy hour! Although, I wouldn’t oppose walking down the aisle with a Prosecco Bouquet.

The flowers and mini Prosecco bottles are from @traderjoes and the 3.5” floral foam is from Amazon.

Dates on Date Night ❤️ At the butcher block

We decided to have Happy Hour at home before Date Night, so I whipped up this quick appetizer, Chorizo stuffed Dates wrapped in Bacon 😋 This super simple recipe is certainly a crowd pleaser, you have to try it!!
All you need:
Medjool Dates (I buy mine pitted)
Chorizo
Bacon
I got all three ingredients from @wholefoods
Normally, I would enjoy this appetizer with a Romesco Sauce, however I didn’t have any, nor did I have time to make some. So we dipped the Dates in a Calabrian Chile and Garlic Sauce (it worked out well) #usewhatyouhave

And of course, the happiest part of Happy Hour, the Wine Pairing. Once again, I used what I had, a beautiful peppery Syrah from Arroyo Seco, CA. Bold, dry and medium acidity, this wine has tasting notes of raspberry, strawberry, cherry, white pepper and leather @zabalavineyards You could also pair with a Tempranillo or Verdejo (Spanish wines)

Julie Child’s French Onion Soup (more or less)

In the kitchen, I’m a big believer of ‘use what you have’. For that reason, my recipes aren’t the same time after time. In this case, I used a semi-dry white wine (instead of dry), didn’t have cognac and I flat out forgot to add the flour. My soup still turned out delicious. Don’t sweat the small {ingredients}, use what you have.

Ingredients (this time)
🧅 5 Yellow Onions
🧅 2 Shallots
🧅 3 tbsp Butter
🧅 1 tbsp Olive Oil from @oliveoiloftheworld
🧅 2 tsp Salt
🧅 1/4 tsp Sugar
🧅 64 oz Beef Broth from @traderjoes
🧅 34 oz Beef Bone Broth from @traderjoes
🧅 1 tbsp Umami Seasoning from @traderjoes
🧅 1/2 cup Riesling from @palmaz_vineyards
🧅 2 cups shredded Gruyere Cheese from @traderjoes
